Herbal Magickal Baths For Love, Purification + Money!

Written By: Psychic AlyciaRose

Water has always been a purifier from the beginning of time; it cleanses everything it touches. Water is also a spiritual cleanser, washing away energies that are not our own while purifying both body and spirit. It is the essence of life, releasing psychic blocks, restoring us to balance and harmony. Taking a magickal or ritual bath permits us to open ourselves to higher energies, and those energies we wish to attract to ourselves.

The history of the ritual bath is ancient. Many cultures ancient and modern use water as a method of spiritual purification. Ritual bathing was a n important part of Roman, Greek, Middle Eastern, and Japanese societies. The faithful washed themselves before prayer, entering a temple or participating in spiritual activities. The use of water in purification is also used by Muslims washing before prayer, Catholics dipping hands in holy water, Native Americans in the sweat lodge, and some modern Witches before entering the sacred circle. In many magickal faiths and folk magic, the bath often becomes spellwork toward an intended goal.

The ritual bath is perhaps the most overlooked aspect of spellwork. Before a ritual, or a spell is to be performed, a bath may be taken to release negative energies and to prepare the mind for the intended goal of the working. The same scents, symbols, and colors used in the working should also be used in the bath in some way. You can get creative and turn the bath into an experience with music, candles, incense, lighting, and color. Even the bath itself may be tinted a specific color. Although you can purchase pre-made spiritual bath salts, it is very easy to make your own, or simply add those items to the bath as is. Loose herbs should be bound in cheesecloth, a sachet, a bound handkerchief, or made into a tea and added then to the bathwater. Do not use soap, shampoo, or regular bath oils in the magickal bath, and shower first before the bath if you need to. Lightly pat dry or air dry after, so that the effects stay with you.

The following are some mixtures for you to try. Be sure to read up on any herbs and essential oils you will add before taking the bath – trust in your own knowledge rather than something you may see in a book or on the internet. Otherwise, you may have unexpected results.

White Purification Bath
Ingredients:

  • Milk
  • sea salt
  • Epsom salt
  • white Carnation petals
  • Angelica tea

As you add the ingredients to the bath, imagine a white healing light surrounding this and infusing the bath water. While you are soaking, visualize all your problems, negativity, and pain leaving you and going into the water. When it is time to end the bath, visualize all of this going down the drain while you are still in the tub.

Attract a Lover Bath
Ingredients:

  • Rose petals
  • Lovage root
  • Jasmine
  • Yang Ylang

On a Friday, and/or on the hour of Venus, take your spiritual bath to attract love. Red and pink candles are appropriate, and you may wish to tint the water lightly with red food coloring. Ask that the water take the pains of past loves, and bring forth a new one. You might wish to meditate on a love goddess. Visualize the type of lover you want and what kind of relationship you wish to be in.

Relaxing Peace of Mind Bath
Ingredients:

  • Lavender
  • Chamomile
  • Rose petals
  • Lemon Balm
  • Hops
  • Lemon juice

Let the water absorb all your negative thoughts and worries as they flow out of you. Inhale while thinking peaceful thoughts and of relaxing natural places you have visited, and exhale energies that are no longer needed.. A recording of oceans waves, or of the forest may help put you achieve this state of mind.

Money and Prosperity Bath
Ingredients:

  • Basil
  • cinnamon sticks or ground (do not use essential oil!)
  • Patchouli
  • Almond extract

On the Full Moon or a Thursday, and/or the hour of Jupiter, burn silver and gold, or green and yellow candles for the duration of the bath. Acquire some silver coins beforehand for this magickal purpose. Mercury dimes are good for business, and ‘Walking Goddess’ silver dollars can be found for good prices if they are in worn condition. Place these silver coins into your bath before you enter the water. While looking at the coins in the water, visualize a tub full of money, and then immerse yourself into the bath. Use the coins after for another magickal bath, or carry them in your wallet to attract money, but do not spend them.

Enjoy! Many Blessings!
