Many wise spiritual gurus have instructed us on how to live and acknowledge the blessings we receive each day. Before receiving all of the blessings life “could” bring us, we must accept the blessings we already have. Read ahead to discover 4 ways to honor what you already possess within yourself.
Perception is Relative
Perspective determines the way you end up feeling about life. Have you ever looked at something upside down and didn’t know what it was? Or were you maybe standing too far away to really see it clearly? Until you saw it correctly or clearly, you could not appreciate its value. We always have to make sure we are looking at life from the right perspective so that we can be grateful for all kinds of blessings we received. For example, you may want to feel mad that your car got totaled in an accident, but instead of realizing that you are alive and that a car can be replaced, you remain miserable. Appreciate and value the good under all circumstances. We do have to deal with loss, but dwelling in will drown you.
Change Your Focus
Happiness is a key factor in creating a balanced life. Staffs of many Seventh Day Adventist Hospitals have participated in Mind, Body, Spirit connection seminars. A balance of all three is needed to achieve harmony. Gratefulness is shown when you can see the light or potential in a situation, despite some darkness or despair. Looking forward, or not focusing on problems can help. We know of studies where patients with the same diagnoses are monitored, one having a positive outlook, and the other a negative one. The one with the positive attitude, grateful for even the smallest of blessings, recovers best. The mind, which is energy, is powerful. Be grateful, stay healthier. Look for a miracle every day, you just may be surprised to find them.
Use Meditation and Chakra Balancing to Manage Stress
Meditation and chakra balancing is important in achieving gratefulness. There are physical changes that occur when we become less negative, more positive, and more grateful. Spiritually speaking when we become grateful, we keep our chakras more energized and less susceptible to negative energies. The chakras when low on energy can also lead to multiple issues of the mind, body and spirit. Stress is definitely more tolerable in the physical body when we operate from a position of gratefulness and positivity. There are several types of meditation and chakra balancing styles. Seeking guidance is helpful if you are not familiar with either of these techniques.
Challenge yourself to do this retraining exercise: write or type what you are unhappy with. Next to that column, for each item you are unhappy with, put an opposite response, changing the perspective. It may be challenging in a lot of situations, but do the best you can.
Be Mindful of Your Speech
Speaking in a positive manner creates a grateful vibe, and in turn it has the potential to create another blessing for others. Have you ever heard of people complaining about this and that? “I HATE that you are always leaving your room a mess”, a mother says to her child. If we love someone, even though they disappoint us, showing a form of gratitude will create more harmony. For example, “It really is a big help to me when you clean your room”, or “I appreciate it when you take the time to pick things up in your room”. Getting used to a change of perspective and a way of communication may take some time if you are aware that you operate from a negative viewpoint on a daily basis, but I challenge you to try it. Keep an eye on your behavior: can you see changes over time with people in your life? Love is an inherent human need. Showing gratitude creates harmony, and when you operate from this point of view it changes things.
Taking a look into quantum physics, we see that everything in this universe is made up of energy, even our thoughts and words. The Bible mentions to guard our thoughts and words. Interesting, isn’t it? It actually repeats universal laws, and that the universe is energy.
Life really is a spiritual journey. Along this journey we develop habits. Just as it takes time to create a habit, it may also take time to change it. Create a new world for yourself… Count your blessings.
