It’s Monday morning, and yet again, you’re dreading the workweek ahead. If it weren’t for the fact that you need to pay bills and keep a roof over your head, you’d be tempted to tell your boss exactly where he can hold his morning meeting so you can spend the morning in bed instead.
Since that’s not an option, you’re probably better off finding a better job. Instead of risking another awful office experience, try looking to the stars to help you find the perfect fit.
Follow the Signs
You might be skeptical that astrology can help you find the perfect job. After all, there’s little chance that your morning horoscope is going to direct you to become an accountant or a teacher. However, by looking at your astrological chart with a trained professional, you’ll embark on a journey of self-discovery that may guide you toward careers and professions that you may not have otherwise considered. You might also discover that the reason you’re so unhappy in your current line of work is simply that it’s not a good fit for you astrologically speaking.
At the very least, you should consider whether you are an Air, Water, Earth or Fire sign. Understanding your sign’s dominant element and how that effects your working life allows you to not only see work in the appropriate field, but avoid careers that aren’t a good fit. Consider the following:
Air signs (Gemini, Libra and Aquarius) tend to be more cerebral and like being the brains of the operation rather than the brawn. They need jobs where they can think independently and be innovative — not those that require following the rules and adhering to rigid procedures.
Water signs (Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces) tend to be emotional, compassionate and sensitive. They are at their best when working with others and do not thrive in positions that are isolating or stifling to their natural creativity.
Earth signs (Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn) are the most grounded and practical signs of the zodiac. If you are an Earth sign, you are probably detail-oriented, analytical and focused on making a plan and sticking with it. You do best in careers that allow you to put those traits to good use, and you are more comfortable than most in conservative, corporate environments with defined roles and tasks.
Finally, Fire signs (Aries, Leo and Sagittarius) tend to have a lot of energy, creativity and leadership skills. They want to be in the spotlight, where they can share their great ideas and “perform.” Desk jobs and jobs that require a great deal of conformity aren’t ideal; Fire signs need room to shine and show off their dynamic personalities.
It’s Not Just Elementary
Understanding your sign and dominant element is only the beginning when it comes to understanding how your astrological sign affects your career. Because a number of factors, particularly the Midheaven, or 10thhouse cusp, can indicate your career path and life aspirations, it’s important to know and understand your own individual chart. Armed with this knowledge and insight, you can better target your job search and find a fulfilling career that you’ll love.
